Which hikes start directly from the hotel?
Many hiking trails begin right outside the hotel. Popular routes lead to the Morterer Alm, along the Martello Strawberry Trail or into the upper Martello Valley, where some of the most beautiful hikes in the Stelvio National Park start.

Does Hotel Burgaunerhof offer guided hikes?
Yes. At least two guided hikes per week are organized with experienced hiking guides from the Stelvio National Park.

Can I rent e-bikes or mountain bikes nearby?
Yes. Bike rental is available about 1.5 km from the hotel at the National Park visitor center culturamartell.

Are there cycling routes and mountain bike trails in Martello Valley?
Yes. The valley offers signposted cycling routes and mountain bike trails suitable for both e-bikes and mountain bikes.
You can obtain a brochure with all routes directly at the hotel.

Is the South Tyrol Guest Pass included in summer?
Yes. The South Tyrol Guest Pass is included in your stay and allows free use of public transport throughout South Tyrol as well as various discounts.
The pass is provided digitally at check-in as a QR code sent to your email.

How good are the public transport connections?
Public transport connections in the Martello Valley are very good.
A bus stop is located only 30 meters below the hotel.

During your stay you can leave your car parked and travel for free with the South Tyrol Guest Pass.
The bus runs hourly and connects both to the upper Martello Valley and to Goldrain, where you can access the Venosta Valley railway.

Are mountain tours only recommended with a mountain guide?
Not necessarily. The Martello Valley offers more than 30 peaks over 3,000 meters that can be reached without glacier crossings or a mountain guide.
All hiking trails are well marked and secured.

Are there cable cars nearby?
Yes. In Latsch a gondola lift leads to St. Martin am Sonnenberg, which is perfect for panoramic high-altitude hikes.
Alternatively, in Tarsch a chairlift takes you to a beautiful mountain plateau.
Due to the protected status of the Stelvio National Park, there are no lift facilities directly in the Martello Valley.

Are there herb workshops or guided nature experiences?
Yes. The Stelvio National Park weekly program regularly offers activities such as herb walks, nature hikes, cooking workshops and regional cultural experiences.

What makes summer in the Martello Valley special?
The Martello Valley is famous for its untouched nature in the Stelvio National Park and for its alpine strawberries.
These mountain strawberries are harvested from June to October at altitudes of up to 1,800 meters and are known far beyond South Tyrol.
